Cookies, Cookies, Cookies

I’m still trying to find a good cookie recipe for my Exchange on Sunday.  I’ve poured through all my cookbooks (which is a lot, I probably have about 30 or more, not including magazines).  I’m just not finding one that jumps out at me as awesome.  So, I’m asking my dear blog readers…

There is a PRIZE involved!  The one who posts the cookie that I choose will win a prize!  What’s the prize??  An awesome apron handmade by me!  🙂  I’ll get a picture posted tonight b/c  I have to get to work right now.

So, post your recipes in the comments, or post on your blog and put a link in your comment, and I’ll decide on a winner sometime on Saturday,  and the winner will be announced on Saturday evening!

Good luck…can’t wait to see all the yummy recipes!

  1. I’m too late for your contest but these are my fave sugar cookies because they bake up nice and soft…YUMMY!

    •2/3 c. shortening
    •2/3 c. butter
    •1 ½ c. white sugar
    •2 eggs
    •2 tsp. vanilla extract
    •3 ½ c. all-purpose flour
    •2 tsp. baking powder
    •1 tsp. salt
•1/3 c. sugar for the tops

    1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2.In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, shortening and sugar. Stir in the eggs and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt, stir into the creamed mixture until dough comes together. Roll dough into walnut sized balls and roll the balls in sugar. Place them on an unprepared cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.
3.Bake 10 to 12 minutes, until bottom is light brown. Remove from baking sheets to cool on wire racks.
