Meal Plan Monday

21 09 2009

It’s Meal Plan time!  I’m not always good at posting my meal plan, but I do make one each week…usually I sit down on Saturday or Sunday and plan out the week’s meals.  It just makes dinner time so much easier – no stressing out about what I’m going to make, and no getting one dish started only to find out I don’t have what I need to finish it!  No.  None of that anymore.  Now, I just figure out what I have in my pantry/fridge, and make my plan accordingly.  If it’s grocery week (we go every other week) then I’ll just make out my grocery list according to what I need for my meal plan.

So, here’s what we’re eating this week:

Monday:  Farmer’s Pasta, and Lemon Crumb Muffins for dessert

Tuesday:  Fettucini Alfredo

Wednesday:  Mexican Cornbread, and Baked Applesauce for dessert

Thursday:  Baked Chicken Ziti

Friday:  Mexian Pork (Sliced and stuffed into tortillas!) and Spanish Rice

Saturday:   Chicken Parm Bites, Cheesy Ranch Potato Skins, and Lima Beans

Sunday:  Pork Loin in the crockpot, Green Beans, and Corn

Don’t forget to check out the other great meal plans and recipes over at Organized Junkie’s blog!

Yes, I’m aware that I’m a day late and a dollar short.  I DID get my plan done over the weekend, but I just forgot to post it yesterday.  Oopsies!!  Anyway, it’s going to be a very busy week for us, so I my plan is pretty basic.  We have baseball games on Tuesday and Thursday, church on Wednesday, and it’s very likely one or both of the kids will have baseball practice over the weekend as well.  Plus tonight I’m fixing a meal for a family in our Bible Study group.    Please don’t chastise me for having hot dogs for dinner one night.  :)

Monday – Artichoke Chicken with Rice and Cranberry Sauce.

Tuesday – Lasagna with Garlic Bread (Fixing a double batch, taking one batch to our friends)

Wednesday – Tacos and Mexican Pizzas

Thursday – Hot Dogs with Baked Beans

Friday – Whiskey River Burgers and Crash Hot Potatoes

Saturday – BBQ Ribs with Mini Potato Gratins and Steamed Brocolli

Sunday – we’re probably going to the inlaws…if not…leftovers or something.

Don’t forget to check out all the other Meal Plans here.  Join me tomorrow for another great recipe and…maybe a little somethin’ special for one of my readers?!?!  Tell your friends to stop by too!

Meal Plan Monday {August 17}

17 08 2009

greenmpm

It’s Monday again!  Time for meal plans!  If you haven’t tried doing meal plans before, I highly recommend it.  Once you get your recipes organized, you simply spend ten or fifteen minutes at the beginning of the week and plan out your meals for the next 7 days.  After I make out my plan, I make a quick grocery list with any items that I might need for this week’s meals.   And that’s it!  You’re done!  Each night, you come home, look at your plan and cook.  No more racking your brain trying to figure out what to cook tonight, and no more “What’s for dinner” from your husband and kids – because they can just look at your meal plan (I hang mine of the fridge so we can all see it at a glance).  I’ll be sharing more details about how to start planning your meals later in the week, along with sharing some photos of my kitchen and how I have things organized.

But for now…here’s our meal plan for this week…

Monday:  Beef Roast with Parmesan Knots &  Green Beans

Tuesday: Personal Pizzas on Focaccia Breads

Wednesday:  Monterey BBQ Chicken with Corn and Rolls

Thursday:  Kentucky Hot Browns

Friday: Chicken Penne Rustica

Saturday:  Whiskey River Burgers with Potato Wedges

Sunday:  No cooking…eating at inlaws.

If you want to see more meal plans, head on over to Organized Junkie’s blog.

God is so good! We have great news…

18 09 2008

My son accepted Jesus into his heart last week and he will be baptized this Sunday!  Isn’t that exciting?  I am so happy for him.  It has made me look at our family and our home-life in a whole new way.  I can’t put into words how it made me feel to find out that he understands that Christ died for him and that He now lives in my son’s heart.  I’m about to cry just typing this out.  We are having a big get together here on Sunday after church to celebrate, I can’t wait.  :)   I’m going to be switching up my menu plan a bit, moving meals around to accomodate the party…I think I’m going to do Taco Soup on Sunday b/c I can throw everything in the crock pot that morning and it will be ready in time for lunch.  Easy peasy.

Anyway, I just wanted to share our excitement! Have a blessed day!
